Access → PostgreSQL Migration

Migrate Access to PostgreSQL
without rebuilding your forms

Move your Access backend to PostgreSQL cloud. Kill the 2GB limit and multi-user corruption. Keep the familiar Access interface.

✕Before

"Cannot open database. File is larger than 2GB."

"You attempted to open a database that is already opened exclusively."

✓After

100GB+ data, 20 users at once, zero corruption — same Access forms via ODBC linked tables.

100+ tables or heavy VBA? Start with the $495 audit (credited toward migration).

How Access to PostgreSQL migration works

01

Schema conversion

Tables, relationships, indexes auto-converted. Access Memo → TEXT, Currency → DECIMAL, Yes/No → BOOLEAN.

02

Data migration

Row-by-row transfer with count verification. Even 2GB+ and partially corrupted files.

03

Keep your forms

Auto-generated ODBC connection strings link your existing Access frontend to the Postgres backend.

04

Cutover + rollback

Deploy to Supabase, AWS RDS, or self-hosted Postgres. Rollback scripts included on every migration.

Why not just…?

"Export to CSV and import?"

CSV loses relationships, constraints, indexes, and data types. The tool preserves your full schema — that is the difference between a weekend of manual fixes and a one-click migration.

"Use SQL Server Express (free)?"

Express caps at 10GB and locks you into Windows licensing plus ODBC pain. PostgreSQL is free forever, runs anywhere, and our DFY service also covers Azure SQL if you need the Microsoft stack.

Access to PostgreSQL FAQ

Q: Can I keep using my Access forms after migrating to PostgreSQL?

A: Yes. The tool creates ODBC linked tables so your existing forms, reports, and queries keep working against the Postgres backend. You only retire the .mdb/.accdb data file.

Q: What happens to my VBA code?

A: The $179 tool migrates data and schema; VBA stays in your Access frontend. If business logic must move server-side, our DFY service converts it to Python/JavaScript cloud functions.

Q: Which PostgreSQL hosts are supported?

A: Supabase, AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or self-hosted Postgres 13–16. Connection strings are auto-generated.

Q: My database is over 2GB / corrupted. Can it still migrate?

A: Usually yes — the tool reads the raw file format bit by bit, bypassing the Jet engine. If Access can barely open it (or even if it cannot), try the tool; the 30-day guarantee covers you. For severe cases, the $495 audit assesses salvageability first.
